#57,320 Fall Color at Center Point Trailhead
This is a standard three-exposure HDR of the Center Point Trailhead in the Ponca Wilderness of the Buffalo River. The HDR yields glowing color, the way the scene feels. This shot was in early morning, cutting light.
#53,764 Upper Buffalo Wilderness Late Fall
This is another standard three-exposure HDR of the Hailstone area of the Buffalo National River. The resulting image is very painterly, almost pastel. Using HDR enabled me to get the sky and keep the shadows open under difficult conditions.
#53,827 Fall Color at Steel Ceek Campground, Buffalo River
This was taken just south of the Steel Creek Campground. It was a blustery day and shafts of light came through dark clouds occasionally. I got my three exposures of the fleeting light just by waiting it out. The result was a luminous photo of the fall sweetgums. HDR enabled me to deal with the very difficult lighting conditions.
It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.
